CREATE A WEBSITE - HOW
TO BUILD A WEBSITE
Welcome
to the world of website creation. The web development market is
filled with options ranging from the advanced user to the
beginner. Regardless of your experience there are options to
cater to your needs to help you create a website.
The days of hiring expensive
web designers are over. Recently there have been advancements in
web development that allow the beginner to build a web site with
no HTML knowledge at all. We have listed some necessary needs
below to get you started.
|
Step 1 - Register A Domain Name |
The first
thing that you will want to do before you
create a website is
register a domain name (IE.
YourDomain.com) There are a variety of
different extensions available with .COM
being the most common. A few domain
extensions are .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .US & many
more. There is no advantage to having a .COM
but it is definitely more recognized to the
general public.
Domain prices have come down in price
recently and can be found for as little
as $14.99 with a reputable domain
registrar. Some companies run upwards of
$35 per year and there is no difference
the quality of the domain. If you know
of a domain that you would like to
register or would like to check
availability

Let's get
started. We've added a page to give you some
tips on domain registration. Here you'll

Step 3 - Find A Web Hosting Company |
|
Once you have
built a website you will need to find a
company that serves as your web host. This
company provides the space on their servers
to publish your website.
There's no
reason to pay a lot for web hosting. There
are companies out there taking advantage of
people's ignorance about web hosting and
charging $20 and $25 per month for very
basic hosting that offers no help (web
building tools) for beginners.
